What does royalty-free mean for meditation and ambient music?

Royalty-free means you pay for a license once, or through a subscription, and owe nothing per play, per view or per copy afterward. The license still sets the scope: which uses are covered (video, apps, client work, music releases) and what stays off limits, which is usually reselling or redistributing the original files. Two royalty-free products can differ a lot, so read the license page of the one you buy.

Can I use royalty-free meditation music in a paid app?

It depends on the vendor, so check before you build. Aural Alchemy's Commercial tier lists apps and games as covered uses. ZENmix allows paid consumer apps when the music stays inside the app, up to US$150,000 in total gross business revenue per rolling 12 months under its Standard License, and asks B2B apps and apps that export audio to arrange extra rights. Epidemic Sound's Creator and Pro plans list social, podcasts, websites and digital ads, and the company runs separate developer and enterprise offerings for other uses. Can I use this music on a monetized YouTube channel?

Yes for the three finished-music options, each with its own mechanics. Epidemic Sound clears videos through channel safelisting, and anything published during an active subscription stays cleared after you cancel. ZENmix allows monetized YouTube videos and publishes a guide for resolving false Content ID matches. Aural Alchemy's license covers monetized videos with no attribution required, and its purchase receipt serves as proof of license. For tracks you produce yourself with Splice sounds, Splice states the sounds are cleared for commercial use.

Can I use this music in client work?

Can I release tracks made with these products on Spotify?

For music you produce yourself, yes with the producer-friendly licenses. Aural Alchemy allows releasing finished music built on its files on any platform, including Spotify and Apple Music, and Splice states you own everything you make with its sounds. Uploading a vendor's original track unchanged is a different case.
